Obituary

William Hunter Walton was born on October 18, 1952. He was the youngest of four children born to Odis Torean and Jessie Mae Hunter Walton.

William grew up in Bryan, Texas and attended Washington Elementary, Neal Jr. High, and E.A. Kemp High School where he graduated amongst the top 10% of his class. He was a proud member of the E. A. Kemp High School Band where he played percussion. During Summers in Bryan, TX you could find William at the Sadie Thomas Pool where he was a Lifeguard.

After graduation, William attended Texas Southern University where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree. William was a member of Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) Biological National Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, and the Pharmacy Honor Society.

In May 1974, William married the love of his life, Delores Fay Seyfus and to this union two children were born, Christopher Mikael and Kristal Michelle.

William started his pharmacy career in Houston, before moving to the Dallas area. Before retiring in 2016, he served the community as a Registered Pharmacist for more than 40 years, during which he achieved the honored position of Chief Pharmacist at Baylor Hospital, Sunnyvale.

William enjoyed listening to and creating music, photography, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved traveling across the United States, with his favorite destinations being Hawaii and Alaska. During these vacations he enjoyed fishing, nature photography, and even got a PADI

Specialty Divers Certification alongside his daughter of the shores of the “Big Island” of Hawaii. He was a passionate gardener who spent many hours tending to his beloved trees, flowers, and plants in the backyard garden. He also loved to cook and create new recipes for the family to enjoy.

William loved to mentor and talk to his kids and grandkids. He was very proud of his family, legacy, and ancestry, and endeavored to make sure his family was knowledgeable and equipped to carry this legacy on from generation to generation. He took the time to let everyone know how important they were to him no matter what. Any day was a special day to William, with him often saying “I don’t need a special day to celebrate and give you a gift of my appreciation, if I want to get you a gift now, I will.” A true testament to how much he loved and cared for his family throughout his lifetime.

William is preceded in death by Odis T. Walton (Father), Irma Jean Walton Clark (Sister), Jessie Mae Hunter Walton (Mother), Charles “Chuck” Walton (Brother), and Bernell Hunter Overton (Aunt). He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory: Devoted Wife, Delores Walton; Son, Christopher Walton (Shawntell); Daughter, Kristal Walton; Brother, Odis L. Walton (Willie Faye); Aunt, Maudie E. To the Walton Family, it is with great sadness to hear the death of William. I can honestly and sincerely say he was a good person. Interestingly, he and I had begun to rekindle the friendship and it was as if we were back in 1971. Good conservations and lots of laughter. With this message, I am offering my condolences. May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
