Obituary

Arthur Maderson Lockhart, aged 68, passed away June 24, 2022,
at his home in Bryan, Texas. Arthur was born January 17, 1954,
in Cameron, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Mae Lockhart
Washington and Merron Van Washington, and youngest brother,
David Earl Washington.
Arthur was a dedicated husband to his wife of 47 years, Opal
Lockhart. Their union brought forth four children – Sheletra
Hayes of Abilene, Texas, Celeste Lockhart of Houston, Texas,
Arthur M. Lockhart, Jr, of Bryan, Texas, and Jacqueline
Powdrell of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Arthur graduated from Caldwell High School. He attended
Prairie View to obtain technical training. He continued his
technical education in a variety of specialties from other
institutions. Arthur retired from Texas Commercial Waste after
20 plus years of dedicated service.
Arthur was hardworking, humorous, and loving. When he was
not working, he enjoyed watching wrestling and football. He
enjoyed playing dominos and had a passion for cars.
Arthur is survived by his siblings: Merron Washington, Jr.,
Henry and Linda Washington, Betty Sheppard, Bertha and
Manuel Taplin, and Ruth Washington Grove. He also leaves
cherished memories to his two sons-in law, Carl Hayes and Isaac
Powdrell, along with three grandchildren, Sydne Hayes, Seth
Hayes, and Korbyn Powdrell; numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on July 2, 2022 at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street Bryan, Texas 77803 at 2:30P.M.

Visitation services will be held at Daniel & Son Funeral Home on July 1, 2022 from 2:00P.M. until 7:00P.M.
