Obituary

Grayling Patrick Smith (Bruno) was born in Bryan, Texas on November 13,

  1. He was the first born child of the late Rev. James Charles Oliphant
    and Carolyn Sue Smith. Grayling gave his life to Christ at an early age
    attending Greater Salem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of
    the late Rev. M.D. Morgan. He later joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist
    Church where he was a devoted and faithful member under the leadership

Grayling attended Bryan High School (Class of 1982). In his younger adult
years, he worked at Nampac and Alenco. Later in life, he also worked as a
Maintenance Manager. Grayling had a passion for fishing, riding his
motorcycle with the motorcycle club he founded (Old School Riders – OSR),
working on cars and trucks, helping others, and spending time with family
and friends. He was often referred to as “Mr. Fix It” due to his knowledge of auto repair.

He leaves to cherish his memory six children: Timolin Bisor (Brian), Justin
Bass, Sierra Franklin, Jamar Smith, Grayling Turner, and Crystal Rittenhouse
all of Bryan, TX; Two Sisters: Kimberly Smith-Ruiz of Bryan, TX and Valencia
LaShaye Charbonnet (Clement) of Pearland, TX; Two Brothers: Merion Smith
and Jason Sostand (Drinda) of Bryan, TX along with a host of uncles, aunts,
grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death
by his parents (Rev. James Charles Oliphant and Carolyn Sue Sostand) and

grandparents (Awbra Smith, Sr. and Dessie Mae Smith).

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at 3:30P.M. located at 3200 W 28th Street Bryan, Texas 77803

Visitation Services will be held at Daniel & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00P.M. located at 401 W 18th Street Bryan, Texas 77803
