Obituary

Ms. Johnnye Walton was born in Bryan, TX to the late Dorothy & Marvin Walton Sr.

She attended Bryan Public Schools and is a 1973 graduate of Bryan High School. She furthered her education at Bryan Vocational School of Nursing and served the community as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she retired after 35 years. She was currently employed PRN at Crestview Retirement Community.

In 1981 while attending a tent revival in Dallas, TX she was moved to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior in her life. That was by far the greatest moment of her life. She loved sharing the word of God, and could always be depended on to have a Bible tract on hand.

She was a nurturer at heart, always caring for others. Her favorite past times were her morning coffee, midnight barbecues, gardening, and movie nights with the kids. She especially enjoyed late night rides with Nona and Sinclair.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Marvin Walton, Sr. along with her siblings Marva Williams, Marvin Walton Jr., and Quinton Walton. She is survived by her sisters Diana Walton, Ozzie Allen (Darryl), Winona Walton and her Brothers Windom, Alister (Freddie), Roderick, & Paul (Michelle) Walton, Leroy(Vernell) Walton.

She also leaves to cherish her precious memories three children: Tracy Evette Walton, and Robert & Michaela Gladden. She is also survived by her beloved grand children Tavion & Triston Walton, Tatum “Bird” Barnes, Zi’hara, Royal, & Robert III Gladden & one great grandchild Aubrie Walton. She also helped raise almost all of her nieces & nephews and loved them as her own. She was well loved, well known & affectionately called Aunt Molli by so many people in the community.

The legacy of love, generosity, and kindness that she leaves behind will never be forgotten. Although our hearts are shattered, we know that she’s with the Lord.

Rest in glory Johnnye for Jesus (as she often called herself). You will FOREVER be alive in our hearts!
