Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Mae Curtis Taylor, 92, who was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend to all whose lives she touched. She was known by her nicknames, Petunia, Madea and Bitty. Doris Mae was born December 2, 1929, in Seguin, Texas. She later moved to Navasota, Texas and stayed there for a number of years. She then relocated to Bryan, Texas, where she lived a full life as a wonderful mother. Most of all, she loved the Lord, and loved her family and friends, and instilled biblical values in her children and grandchildren.She passed on December 27, 2021, and left us while sleeping peacefully at her home in Bryan, Texas.She was preceded in death by her mother, Otella Edwards, her father, Jim Curtis,brother, L.T. Curtis, sisters, Bobbie Fisher, Johnny Mae Edwards,son, Alfred Walter Curtis, granddaughter, Cheryl Hill, grandson, Alfred White, first husband Bennie Taylor, Sr.,special friend, Walter Dougless Maxey, and special friend, James Flinterd Coltham; son-in-law, Lonnie Goosby, Rozell Taylor, and daughter-in-law, Ella Taylor.She is survived by her loving children, Wanda Elaine Maxey (JR), Sheila Kay Goosby, Dorthey Marie Taylor, Robert James Taylor (Dora Taylor) and Bennie Taylor, Jr., daughter-in-law, Shaunda Curtis (Kay Kay); and her two church daughters, Carylon and Valerie; a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and her extended church family.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts
