Joe Troy Williams was born April 14, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to Henry Otis Williams and Rosie Ellen Williams. He was raised and educated in San Antonio. Joe was a member of Galilee Baptist Church and Immanuel Christian Fellowship Church in Caldwell, Texas, where he faithfully served as an usher.
Joe was a hardworking man who enjoyed staying busy and working with his hands. He spent more than 20 years working for the county as a truck driver before retiring around 2000. Joe loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, working on cars, cooking, BBQing, and taking on personal projects. Whether he was fixing something, building something, tending to his garden, or firing up the grill, Joe could always find something to keep himself busy. He was known for his great sense of humor and loved joking around and making those around him laugh. Above all, Joe treasured his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Otis Williams and Rosie Ellen Williams; his brother, Travis Henry, and his wite, Effie; three sisters, Henrietta Coffee, Mae Ella Jackson, and
Charlesetta Henson; his brother-in-law, Claude Jackson; his nephew, Claude Jackson Jr.; his daughter, Ada Daniels; his grandson, Isaac McNeil III; his great-grandson, Kingston; his niece, Rosetta “Buckie” Jackson; his nephew, Jazz Fernandez; his brother-in-law, Rev. Van Powell; and his aunt, Obie Standokes.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sherrel Williams; his children, Travis Williams, Amethyst Williams and April Campise and her husband Joey, as well as Isaac McNeil and his wife Ashley. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amberlyn, Ariel, Ambrose and his wife, Odalys, Andrew and his wife, Kristine, Shundale, Sean, Jasmine, Chastity, Mickayla, and Malachi.
His great-grandchildren include, Ana’leyah, Ada, Aza, Ayanna, Aubrey, Adonis, Aislyn, Avanni, Alora, Alina, Josiah, Jeremiah and Kinsley. He leaves one sister, Ella Mae Powell.
Joe’s memory will also be cherished by Gregory, Roderick, Shaunte, James, Keisha, Quianetra, Jacoby, JaQuinton, Jermaine, Jazz, Judah, Isreal, Brooke, Curlin, and many other family members, loved ones and friends whose lives were touched by Joe.
