Mr. Tyree ” Rudy” Johnson Jr.

Mr. Tyree Johnson, Jr. was born on February 13, 1938, to the late Tyree
Johnson and Bertha Jenkins Johnson in Bryan, Texas, He moved to San
Francisco, California in 1944. He accepted Christ at an early age at Third
Baptist Church. He attended San Francisco public schools, Emerson
Elementary, Everett Junior High and later graduated from Mission High
School.
His sisters recall when mother would not give Tyree what he wanted, he
would pout for hours and commence to sing the song “I Found A Peanut!”
endlessly. And, if that wasn’t enough, he owned a pair of white suede shoes
that he dyed weekly in arrays of colors.
He was married to Vera Trotter of San Francisco for 30 years who
preceded him in death.
He was an employee of F.E. Booth and Heublein, Inc. as a Warehouseman
and was a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.
As his health declined, he retired and moved back to Bryan, Texas. He
met and was smitten by a lady whom he called “his chocolate drop”,
Fayeola Jones, in his Aunt’s garage. They were later wedded in Holy Mat-
rimony on December 8, 2014 until his demise. On June 1, 2019, he accepted
The Plan of Salvation and became a member if The Greater Tabernacle
Baptist Church under Watch care where Rev. Lawrence Hicks is the
Pastor.
Some of Tyree’s favorite pastimes were listing to music by Barry White
and Aretha Franklin’s “God Will Take Care of You, and “Precious Lord”.
He loved sports and his favorite team was the SF49ers.
On Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 am, Mr. Johnson took his wings and
went to meet his heavenly Father. He loved family and friends and leaves
cherished memories with his wife, (Fayeola); six sisters, (Erma Jean, Patricia,
Sherran, Deborah, Gail, and Benita all of California) and one brother,
(Darwin of Bryan, Texas), two Aunts (Kate Johnson and Robbie Yoakum),
two special cousins (Shirley Lyons and Wilma Lynn Wilson), and three
stepchildren (Ebony, Mirescha, and Drey) and a host of nieces, nephew cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10am till the time of service on Thursday June 20, 2019 at Daniel and Son Funeral Home.
