Obituary
Winnifred Corita Chantilope Dix, 78 of Somerville, Texas passed on Tuesday, July 26,2022 at Chi St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas.
Winnifred was born in Creek, Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands to Horatio Samuel Chantilope and Ina Adina Connolly. Winnifred will return to her birth home for her final rights and burial.
Winnifred attended the Creek Schools from 1950 to 1962 and further her education as a X-Ray Tech and Surgical Tech at Ft. Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas.
Winnifred began her active duty in the army services at Fort Hamilton, NY in the United States Army on July 31,1969,where she received medals for Good Conduct and for National Defense Services, She served for three years.
Winnifred met and married Curtis Charles Dix,Sr on October 24,1970,to this union, one son ,Curtis Charles,Jr was born..
Winnifred was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Caldwell, Texas,where she served faithfully.
Preceding her in death her parents;Horatio Samuel Chantilope and Ina Adina Connolly; two sisters Joyce Ryan,and Iris Pomaris;two brothers;Margaratio Chantilope and Ashton Chantilope and her mother-In-Law Helen Green
Winnifred leaves to cherish her memory; her husband,Curtis Charles Dix,Sr. One son Curtis Charles Dix,Jr and wife Myrmonde of Orlanda, Flordia;three grandchildren Akira,Avion,and Jaiel;two sisters Joan Bodden and Elosia Estaban and a host of other relatives and friends,
