HOMEGOING CELEBRATION FOR SIS. BETTY LOU MORRIS

Betty Lou Smith (Morris) was born on Saturday, April 10, 1948. She was the seventh
born child of the to the late Awbra Smith, Sr. & Dessie Mae Smith in Robertson County,
TX. She accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Salem Missionary Baptist Church in
Mooring, TX. She attended Bryan Public Schools, E.A. Kemp High School (Class of
1968). Betty served in the U.S. National Guard for three years. After her service, she
was employed with Texas Instruments, Shamrock, and Valero and later retired to move
to Houston. Betty had a passion for fishing, cooking, and loved spending time with

family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children: Cherica Harris (Gboly) of Houston,
TX, Anthony Bowers, Sr. (Regina), Gayla Brown (Jamarcus) of Bryan, TX; ten
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers Awbra Smith, Jr. and John

Wayne Smith, Sr. (Shirley); Four Sisters: Mary Jef erson, Theresa Hill, Wanda Smith-
Williams (Clyde), and Ester Shirley, all of Bryan, TX along with a host of nephews,

nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (Awbra Smith,

Sr. & Dessie Mae Smith), grandparents (Jerry “Bud” Thomas and Minnie Bell-
Thomas), two brothers (George T. Smith and Arthur “Cocky” Smith), and three sisters

(Pearl Robertson, Martha Phillips, and Carolyn Sostand).

Memorial services will be held at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located on 401 W. 18th street Bryan,Texas 77803 on Sunday April 10th, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.
