Obituary

Earl Dexter Johnson was born in Galveston, Texas on October 2, 1956, to Everett Johnson and Inez Johnson. He attended Blackshear Elementary; he graduated from Hearne High School in 1974, both in Hearne, Texas. He later attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas where he played football; he received an Associate’s Degree. He then moved to Houston to begin working. Earl became a member of Greater True Light MBC, currently under the leadership of Pastor T. O’Brian Berry. He was a faithful member for many years and served dutifully with the male chorus and member of the Men of Standard. He enjoyed playing dominoes, listening to music, watching sports and spending time with his family.Earl was preceded in death by his parents: Everett and Inez Johnson, grandparents: AB and Nealie Foley Cashaw, two brothers: Howard Johnson and James Terrell Johnson, one sister Ida Ruth Johnson, and one sister-in-law Lillie Johnson.Earl leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Peggy Johnson, three daughters, Ella Michelle Ferrell (Teddy), Peggy Denise Alexandre, and Dalesha Calinda; two sons, Matthew Johnson and Michael Brooks (Erica); grandchildren: Makayla Alexandre, Kaitlin Alexandre, Zhakaie Alexander Johnson, Joshua, Nia, Ma-Kayla, McKenzie, Michael III, and Skylar ; three brothers: Melton Johnson ( Bonnie), John Johnson, and Charles Johnson (Roslyn); two sisters: Lois Clark, and Glenda Baber (John), one aunt, Wareline Flipping(Bob); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
