Mrs. Eddie Mae Lawson Watters was born January 24, 1933 to Rev. Edd and Hattie L. Lawson in Gause, TX. She was married to Rev. Rufus O. Watters Sr. on January 24, 1953 and to this union four children were born, Edward Lawson, Rufus O. Watters Jr., Sherrel Anita Watters and Hattie Lois Watters. She joined Hope Well Baptist Church at an early age and attended Smith High School in Tills Prairie Community she then moved on to attend Hicks Beauty School in San Antonio, TX. Mrs. Eddie Mae owned her own hair salon and was a traveling beautician in the surrounding areas. She had a passion for fishing and loved fishing with her sisters and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Eddie Mae Watters was called into the ministry under the pastorage of Rev. Thurman Sims and Pastor Rufus O. Watters Sr. on January 4, 2009. According to Mrs. Eddie Mae she was walking down the hall and heard God call her name. He told her to tell them “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is enteral life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23 Later she untied with Immanuel Christian Fellowship under Pastor Rufus O. Watters Sr. – after his death she attended Galilee Baptist Church (The Fellowship) under Pastor Calvin Arnold.
Minister Eddie Mae is preceded in death by her husband Pastor Rufus O. Watters Sr, father Rev. Edd Lawson, mother Hattie L. Lawson, sisters Rebecca Barnes, Irene Cooks and Thelma McConley and son Edward Lawson.
Minister Eddie Mae leaves to cherish her memories, children, Pastor Rufus O. Watters Jr., Pastor Sherrel Anita Williams and Hattie Lois Watters. Her beloved sister Odessa Livingston, 7 Grandchildren – Gregory Edwards, Kimberly Watters Brewer, Rodrick Watters, Kendra Watters, Kelvin Watters, Isaac McNeil & Venetia Worrel. 19 Great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 2:30P.M. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Caldwell, Texas.
Visitation services will be held on Friday August 19, 2022 from 11:00A.M. until 7:00P.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77802.
