Home Going Celebration for Bro. Donald Ray Peterson
Donald Ray Peterson (Bird), passed away Monday, September 19,
2022, at his home in Bryan, Texas.
Donald was born in Bryan, Texas, on April 15, 1956, to Willie, Jr. and
Juanita Peterson.
Donald graduated from Bryan High School, Class of 1976. In 1976,
he enlisted into the United States Army and also went on to attend
Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. While at Sam
Houston, he helped to establish the Fraternity Phi Beta Sigma, and
would speak of his time there foundly.
Donald was a member of Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church in
Bryan, Texas. Donald also worked for American Express for 20 years
and would travel the world and discuss with his family the many
adventures he had with them. Donald would then later come back to
Bryan and retire from Wal-Mart.
Many fond memories will remain with the family he left behind. He
is survived by his mother, Juanita Peterson; sisters, Diane Peterson
Smith and Bobbie Jewel Peterson (both of Bryan, Texas); brothers,
Tommie Lee Green (Bryan), Bennie Green (Houston, Texas), James
Peterson (Katy, Texas), and Willie Peterson III (Pearland, Texas). He
is also survived by three aunts and one uncle; a special friend, Maira
Garcia (Kissimmee, Florida); sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Preceding him in death is his father, Willie Peterson, Jr.
