Obituary

On October 24, 1970 a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Vera B. Benson and the late John
H. Morrow. This beautiful baby blossomed into a beautiful woman of God and love. Felicia
Johnson’s beauty was magnified inside as well as outside. She had a warm, giving kind heart. She
had been watching our elderly and ancestors and mimicked the strength of any Godly Soldiers. She
had a perfect pitch and tone of voice that cold correct and direct anyone to do the right thing. She
was a born teacher/educator and started within her own family first, then abroad.
Lisa, as we sweetly called her, was so generous. She gave of her time, energy and resources to
anyone who was in need, young and old or in between.
Felicia joined Little Oak Grove Baptist Church at the age of 6, under the leadership of Pastor Rufus
Glynn, Jr., and was baptized.
Felicia attended W.D. Spigner Elementary School, where she first encountered making friends.
She still had some of those friends as of today. She was a member of the Class of 1988. She
attended Calvert High School, where she went on to receive her GED by taking classes at Texas
A&M University and received top scores.
Felicia brought 3 wonderful children into this world with Carlos Hawkins; Darius, Myoshi and
Jarvis, who meant the world to her. She made sure they received what they needed from her to be
godly, successful and peaceful adults.
Felicia was a sister above many. You couldn’t find a better sister. You can search the world over,
but Lisa displayed this in every way, from cooking for all siblings, to giving them advice about life.
As an Aunt, Felicia looked at her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews as an extension of her
own immediate family and treated them as such.
Ms. Felicia worked as a childcare teacher/educator for 32 years in the Bryan/College Station area.
She started as a teacher at Kiddie Castle Daycare and moved forward to becoming a teacher at
Southwood Valley Montessori School for more than 20 years. Her present employment was with
Golden Keys Learning Center. Lisa was well loved for her dedication and terrific care of children
of all ages (some of us are grown). Other co-workers appreciated her hard work and the
motivation she gave them.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie Ann Morrow and brother, Kenneth Morrow.
Felicia leaves to cherish her memories, 2 sons, Darius Johnson and Jarvis Johnson; one daughter,
Myoshi Johnson; one son-in-law, Anthony Jones, Jr.; stepfather, Eddie Johnson; one uncle, Robert
