Obituary

God was smiling when He brought Darleen Gee Williams into the world on March 8, 1963, in Caldwell, Texas to the late Sam Mack, Sr. and Esterlena Heslip. The smile continued as she graduated from Caldwell High School and continued her education at Brazos Valley Business, Blin and Temple Colleges.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Darleen accepted Christ at an early age. She continued her walk with Christ as a dedicated choir member at Galilee Baptist Church that is now The Fellowship-Galilee TCAC, where the Pastor is Rev. Calvin Arnold.

Darleen married Rev. Bobby Williams on July 21, 2006 and remained faithful in her walk with Christ and her vows to Rev. Williams until she transitioned to rest.

Darleen loved to be of service in her career as well. She served others as a Phlebotomy Technician, a Juvenile Correction Officer and later as a Private Caregiver.

Psalm 1211-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Darleen had a smile that lit up the room; a heart of gold with a servant’s mentality. She served God, her family and community with a smile on her face and a simple “How can I help?” Darlene loved board games, cards and movies with her grandchildren. She was very competitive when it came down to it. They had better win because she was not making it easy for them.

Darleen was a singer for the Lord. She found her calling in Galilee’s Choir Praise Team, where she loved to sing (soprano), dance and praise the Lord with all her heart and days.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of The Fellowship Galilee/TCAC.

Psalm 91:1-2 ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.”

On the 15th day of October 2023, she was called home in Caldwell, Texas. She leaves cherished memories to her husband, Bobby Williams; daughter, Shalicia Twachelle Swain; grandchildren, Xavier (Dalena) Newton, Layla Newton, Heavy Newton, Isaiah Newton, and Syncyre Minor; great-grandchildren, Olivia Newton and Ke’mani Newton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Davis and Katha (Wesley) Hodges; brother, Bennie Heslip; special sisters, Liza, Bessie, Rebecca, Becky, Donetta, Michelle, and many more; and a host of other relatives and friends.
