Obituary

Jessie Mae Harris-Turner was born on
February 8, 1943 to the late Endie and Thelmon
Harris, Sr. She grew up in College Station, Texas
where she graduated from Lincoln High School.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age
under the leadership of the late Rev. R.J. Lewis at

As a member, she sang in the choir and participated in other youth
activities. Jessie was a quiet person but would brighten up a room with
her laughter and smile, and her cup ran over with love for her grandsons
and her great-grandchildren.
She later met Floyd Turner and moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, where they
were married. With this union, she was blessed with a step-daughter,
Jeanette and two grandsons, Charles and Clifford Adkins. God later
blessed the couple with a daughter, Jacquelyn Turner. The family later
united with McMillian United Methodist Church under the leadership of
Rev. Charles Anderson.
Jessie began her career at the Remodel Inn Hotel and later became a
Caregiver at Heritage Care Rehabilitaion & Nursing Home Center where
she remained until she retired and returned to her hometown.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Endie and Thelmon Harris,
Sr.; her brothers, Rev. Thelmon Harris, Jr. and Roosevelt Harris, Sr. and her
twin sister, Jessie Myrtle Harris.
Jessie is forever cherished in memory by a multitude of loving
family members including her daughter, Jacquelyn Turner
R.A. Terrell, Jr.); grandsons, Ronald Asher, Jr. and Christopher
Turner; brothers, Earnest Harris (Lenora) and James Harris;
