William Cleophus Grays was born on March 28, 1941, in Bryan,
Texas, to Zach and Ethel Grays. On June 30, 2026, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication to his family and community. William attended Prairie View University, where he furthered his
education.

He enjoyed truck driving, carpentry, and building things with his
hands. He found great joy in working outdoors. William was a member of the Lions Club of Hearne, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zach and Ethel Grays.


William was formerly married to Josephine Birdsong Grays. The couple later divorced on October 30, 1980. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his sons, Michael Grays and his wife; Mark Grays, Matthew Grays, and Christopher Grays and his wife; his sister, Brenda J. Grays Andrews; his niece, Dominique Andrews; his grandchildren, Michael Grays, Jr., Daniel Grays, Andrew Grays, DeMarco Grays, Kashar Grays, and Isaiah Grays; his great-grandchildren, Malakai Grays, Julius Grays, Ruby Grays, and Elijah Grays; his special friend, Bryant; and a host of
other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
