Kenneth Earl Loggins, Sr. was born in Houston, Texas on December 3, 1946 to the union of Clara Jessie Banks Loggins and Earl Loggins. Kenneth was the only child.
Kenneth аccepted Christ early in life and was baptized at
Friendship Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Kenneth attended Houston public schools and graduated from Jack
Yates High School, Class of 1964. Kenneth was active in the Jack Yates marching band, playing the trumpet. Later, he attended Texas Southern University and was soon hired on in 1971/1972 at the transcontinental Gas and Pipeline Company, [now Williams Companies] ground level. As he worked his way through the Gas Control Division, Kenneth continued as a Gas Transportation
Scheduler for 36 years, until retirement. After retirement, Kenneth cheerfully joined United Airlines Skycap Division for another 15 years. Kenneth met and married Marcia Carol Fance. Prior to them
marriage, Kenneth had a son, Kenneth Earl Loggins, Jr. and Marcia birth 2 children: Cedric Wayne Deslandes II and Mychon Marcia Deslandes.
Kenneth later joined Wesley Chapel AME Church, with wife Marcia Loggins and family; under the Godly leadership of the Honorable Dr. Rev. E.E. Coates. There Kenneth participated in Sunday School and became a part of the church business/finance committee as well as a member of the usher board. Kenneth was an avid bowler and loved being in the Corvette Car Club, a true car ‘buff’. Kenneth and Marcia traveled extensively flying and, on the road, together. Later, Kenneth consented to a cruise. They were able to truly enjoy an exciting 10-day Alaskan cruise excursion. Kenneth and Marcia were also members of the Houston Area Chapter Jack and Jill, Inc. Family Organization, where the children actively participated in community, spiritual and cultural projects, until their graduation from high school. Kenneth is preceded in death by both his father known as “Big Earl” Loggins and his mother Clara Jessie Loggins.
Kenneth departed this life bound for glory on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 3:34 p.m. He leaves to cherish forever his precious legacy: loving wife, Marcia Loggins; Kenneth Earl Loggins, Jr.
