On October 27, 1963 in Huntsville, Texas a beautiful baby girl named Anita KAY Ellis was born to J.D. Ellis and Barbara Louise Ellis. She brought joy to her whole extended family while growing up. This special baby girl inherited the nickname “Custard Pudding”. As a young child, Anita began to excel at being a fast learner which was the beginning of a life-long career in the Education field. She attended the Trinity Intermediate School, where she was involved in various academic activities, as well as sports.
She was raised in a Christian household, showing a strong obedience and desire to worship and serve God. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, was baptized and began her dedicated service to God’s work, right up until he called her home. Anita was always putting other above herself. She completed her former education at Trinity High School and then attended Jarvis Christian College and along with Sam Houston State University. She obtained a bachelor’s degree with several other teacher certifications that allowed her to thrive and blossom in connection with her students. She taught students on all grade levels, and she loved and cared for them all. Anita completed and retired with a total of thirty- six years in the Education career field.
Anita loved spending time with God, family and friends. She loved cooking, arts and crafts, reading and helping everyone that was in need, that she came into contact with. She was very active in her neighborhood community, church, and with the College Station School District students. She would often volunteer her services to her neighbors. She was very dutiful and faithful to her duties as an Usher at her church (FMUC) and also in the College Station Independent School District, where she was instrumental in the helping many young students to prepare for their new lives in the adult world, because her family was important, she was involved in organizing The Hadnot Family Group, which she was the vice president of the Family Board.
In May of 2023, Anita retired from her career in Education that she so dearly loved after receiving a cancer diagnosis earlier this (January 2023). After a 2.5-year fight, Anita lost her earthly battle at 3:08 p.m. on September 14, 2025, with her children by her side. She came to realize the words spoken by the Lord Jesus on the cross. “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43)

Anita was truly a beacon of light, I’m heart broken to learn of her passing.
