Celebrating the Life of Missionary Wilma Faye Hall

Life Reflections

Our beloved Missionary Wilma Faye Hall was called from earthly labor to her place in the Kingdom of God
on September 22, 2024. By her bedside in her passing was her sister, First Lady Barbara A. Green. Wilma was
the second of four daughters born to Mother Lillie Bell Hall-Allen on April 29, 1947, in Bryan, Texas.
Growing up in Bryan, Wilma attended G. W. Carver Elementary and E. A. Kemp High School. During that
time, a revival broke out at her home church, and God saved her.
After high school, Missionary Hall attended Prairie View A&M University and received her Bachelor of Arts
degree. She later earned her Master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. During her
years of educational advancement, she remained faithful to God.
Missionary Hall worked for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, through the Texas A&M University
System, until her retirement. While working with Ag Extension, her vacation time was spent traveling and
faithfully participating in the work of the Lord.
In April 2001, Missionary Hall became a licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ. She
was a faithful servant of God. In fact, Sister Hall has worked in nearly every area of service to the local church,
district, jurisdiction, and national church. She served as van driver, cook; interior decorator; chief fundraiser;
Church Secretary; District Secretary; Pastor’s Aide worker; Sunday School teacher; Young People Willing
Workers teacher; Choir President; member of Young Women’s Christian Council and Christian Women’s Council;
Business & Professional Women Federation member; Scholastic Motivation Ministries coordinator; National
Hospitality member; Executive Secretary of both Texas Southwest and Texas Southwest 1st Jurisdictions; and
in whatever other capacities she was needed. Through it all, Missionary Hall remained a dedicated member of
Lily of the Valley Church of God in Christ.
Missionary Hall was never a stranger to work. It was no surprise to find her in the kitchen of anyone’s
church assisting with their meal preparations. She had a keen spiritual ability to discern and prioritize the
needs of others before routinely making herself available without being asked. Wilma loved traveling to all
local, district, jurisdictional and national meetings, where she continued doing what she loved: serving others.
Missional Hall served three Jurisdictional Bishops: Bishop T. D. Iglehart (Assistant Executive Secretary);
Bishop S.E. Iglehart (Executive Secretary); and Bishop Maurice Green Jr. (Executive Secretary). She loved
serving her leaders and always rendered her absolute best in representing them with dignity and excellence.
Missionary Hall was affectionately known as, Aunt Wilma. While never giving birth to children of her own,
Aunt Wilma became a mother to so many who were blessed to cross her path, both children and adults alike.
She would often travel to church functions accompanied by her nieces and nephews, at no monetary expense
to their parents. She loved nurturing her family! Aunt Wilma particularly enjoyed developing her nieces
and nephews through 4-H. Their 4-H club was the first local club to participate in the Texas Department of
Transportation’s Adopt-a-Highway program in the Brazos Valley.
Aunt Wilma would spend countless hours incessantly helping her nieces and nephews prepare for
competitions. She taught them everything from how to bake-where each of them routinely earned first-place
honors in 4-H Food Show competitions to modeling and public speaking. The fruit of her labor of love remains
evident today. Ultimately, Aunt Wilma taught them all to commit to the spirit of excellence found in the Lord
Jesus. Aunt Wilma was uniquely special to so many children, and her affirming presence is immensely missed.
Wilma was preceded in death by her mother, Mother Lillie Bell Allen; and her youngest sister, Carolyn
Kennard (Larry). She leaves two sisters to cherish her memories: Ruby McClain and Barbara Green (Maurice);
dozens of nieces and nephews, her extended Lily of the Valley family, Texas Southwest 1st Jurisdiction family,
and a host of other family members and friends.
