Obituary

He was a good man and not only a good man but a great father. In 2012 we worked as a one
household two income family, but my husband picked up the slack, and I had to put all my energy
into our daughter who was very sick and suffered from many complications. He pulled our family
together, and he provided hard to prove for us.
Marcell was my right hand, and I was his rib, so having. He was a man of God but found demons not
far behind, but ultimately, he wanted to do right by his wife and kids and get right with God to keep
his family going. His health got in the way of making it back home to his family.
Marcellus was a family man, and he loved his children and his wife with all his heart, mind, body,
and soul. When you met Marcell, he met you with a smile but eyes in the back of his head at all
times. You met a man who wouldn’t let you cross him nor his wife. He taught his children never to
give up and to always keep your head high. He loved spending time with his kids and big on family.
He loved to dance and sing but couldn’t do either. Lol

He was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He resided in Austin Texas most of his life. He came to Texas with his mother,
Foxy Sonya-Jo Harris, his sister Jamaika Gilbert and Josh Lathan. They left July 3, 2008. Marcell was 17 years old and drove
halfway, and his mother drove the other half to Round Rock, Texas. They were all crammed in a full-size U-Haul, pulling
Marcell’s grandma’s car, who passed just recently before. The ride was long and a cramped one, but they all loved each other
and were ready for a new start at life. They traveled though East Oregon into Idaho through long hillsides and a new valley
behind every turn. Their worries and doubt were fading away, and their new life was as promising as ever. On the trip they had
laughed, and cried and fought, but they got to be together for five days seeing this country’s beauty. They traveled through
Idaho, Utah and drove through the rocky mountains of Colorado, a sight they will never forget. They came into Texas from the
north and traveled south to Austin, Round Rock, to be exact; leaving what they knew behind to have a different life, only to
find out they would lose his mother, Foxy at later that year in 2008 at age 33, and he would raise his sister Jamaika as his own.
Marcell was always the father type to all who knew him. They looked up to him, and when anyone needed him, he was there.
When dealing with being a father to a sister, Marcellus was mad at God for a long time for his mother, leaving him behind. He
wanted to be with her so bad and it hurt him every night. So, God sent him an angel to watch over him for a while. That’s when
he became a man, and he met his wife. He laid eyes on Jessika on June 30 and told his friends and family I’m going to make
her my wife, and he did. They shared their first son, Lamoni Cottrell Harris, and Marcel knew he found love in this woman who
gave him his first child, not only one but two. Now Lamoni looked just like him it was like looking in a mirror. I’ve never seen a
man love someone so much that he would die for him. If it meant saving his own child’s life. So, becoming a father on March
26,2012 and then he made his wife’s son, Malik Fulbright his own. He said I don’t care, who you came out of you always be my
son and he said that’s on crip lol and that was just like Marcel to make a joke out of the blue. he loved everything about
family. But he took Malik in as his own because he knew no child should grow up without a father and son love. So, making
his family of two, then comes his daughter, Jacell Miracle Foxy Harris named after his mother and boy does she have the name
to match a Wondrous glorious woman like Foxy. Then, Marcellus asked me, Jessika to be his wife on in February of 2015.
Proposing to give me the world and made me his wife on April 2,2016 than becoming a business owner Above and beyond
movers on December 13, 2015 working hard every day for many hours that it took away from his family and Took a toll on his
health but being the only person that could work while i took care of the children he was what you called a Dedicated
husband/ father and man. than we welcome our last Addition to the Harris family Zaiere Elijah Harris that’s the most like his
father it’s like they shared the same brain, and they had the same heartbeat and that’s how I know Zaiere will know what a
real man should be. It’s been really good times and some hard bad times but marcel had Really bad seizures and it was hard
for him to work at some times, but God always made away for us. But we kept the family first. This family shared many dreams
of owning a food truck for the needy and keeping the moving company alive. but we never lost sight of what came first, and
that was God and our children. We made a way when there was no way. We had a lot of trials and tribulations. But we knew
what God was because of what God did for our daughter who was born at 1lb and 15oz. God had a plan that me his wife did
not know would end so soon. But I want to send my husband into God’s hands, letting him know what he already knows that
a king was born again. Marcel’s body might be gone, but his soul will live on forever with us and through his children.
He leaves behind, his wife Jessika; his oldest son Malik, Lamoni, his daughter, Jacell, and his youngest son Zaiere and sister,
Jamaika. We planned to renew our vows on his birthday on January 24th, but that day never came. It is with a heavy heart that
we share with you that Marcellus Cottrell Harris has passed on, leaving us grief stricken. The loss of Marcellus. is with immense
sorrow that we share, with heavy hearts, the devastating news that our dear husband, father, brother and friend, Marcellus
tragically passed away on Jan 4th, 2024, at the age 32.
