Wazzie Hanks Masco

Wazzie Hanks Masco was born on October 24, 1939 to Harvey and Mary Hanks Sr. In Caldwell, Tx. Her family moved to Bryan , Tx in 1958. She graduated from E.A. Kemp High School in 1959. She was baptized at an early age and confessed Christ as her Lord and savior at New Hope M.B.C in Navasota, Tx. Through the years she was a dedicated member of New Chapel B.C, Fairview B.C and most recently, Lee Chapel Methodist Church until her health failed her.

Wazzie was a very special, caring and devoted woman. She cared for her mother and twin during their illnesses. Her greastest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She worked as a childcare provider and cook for many years. With the nurturing spirit she had, she loved caring for others in anu way, but especially by cooking delicious healthy meals. She had a pass i on for cooking, but shopping and going to garage sales gave her much happiness.

She departed this life January 14, 2008 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Hanks sr ; foir brothers, Willie Hanks Terrell, Melvin L. Hanks, Walter L.Hanks and Harvey Hanks Jr.

Wazzie’s memory will live on through the life of all remaining family: Her one loving daughter Johnette Banks Hearne; her two grandchildren Asha D. Webb and Ahzaniah Shebet ( Roderick R. Hearne, Sr) daughter in law Shamachaa Mathanah ( Erin Hearne); her two great grandchildren Itazama Rawach( Roderick R. Hearne Jr) and Shiloh J. Hearne; one sister Cordia Hanks; two brothers William and Robey Hanks; a special sister in law Wilma Hanks, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
