Patsy Lenore von Roeder Dolliver

Patsy Lenore Dolliver, 86, passed away on August 6, 2018, in Caldwell, Texas, after a short illness. Patsy was born on March 30, 1932, to Clemens and Ella von Roeder near Knapp, Texas. She was a long time resident of Snyder, Texas. At 5 years of age Patsy contracted polio which left her unable to walk, but it never prevented her from having a full and productive life. She was known throughout her life for her creativity. She was a prolific artist (oil painter under the name of “Von”), and she continued to paint up until shortly before her death. She was also talented at all types of hand work:  knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc. In addition, she was always known for being an excellent cook and gardener. She was an avid reader, and she loved to work puzzles and play games. Primarily, she was a great mother to six children. All who knew her were struck by her courage and grit and her ability to deal with the difficulties caused by her disabilities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Dolliver; her parents; her sisters Bonnie, Edda, and Julia; her brother Oren; and one son, Paul Nelson Dolliver. Survivors include one brother, Roland “Dint” von Roeder; her daughter Janis Dortch and her husband Bruce, of Caldwell, TX; her daughter Debra Dolliver and her husband Artie McKim of Tuscaloosa, AL; her son David Dolliver and his wife Karen of Caldwell, TX; her son Darrell Dolliver of Spring, TX; her son Dennis Dolliver and his wife Beth of Celina, TX; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu in flowers, please consider making a donation to Ryan’s Challenge (ryanschallenge.org) in memory of Patsy.
