Willie L. Walker

Willie Walker was born on July 12, 1943 in Edge, Texas to George Walker Jr and Odell Hickman Walker. He attended G.W. Carver Elementary and E.A. Kemp High School with the class of 1963 in Bryan, Tx. He moved to Dallas in 1965 where he was employed for several years with Haverty’s furniture Company. He worked in distribution for most of his professional career with Greenleaf Wholesale Florist. Willie worked approximately 25 years as an exceptional and well decorated employee covering North and East Texas region. He retired in 2002 and returned home to Bryan to enjoy the next chapter of his life. While Willie L. Never married, he shared a 32 year relationship with Mae Ida Johnson of Bryan.

Willie L. was a unique individual, very charming with loads of charisma. Once you met him, he would flash that beautiful smile and he was always willing to offer a helping hand. His loyalty cannot be overstated. He was your friend for life. He cared deeply for his family. Willie L. lead with a positive example for his nieces and nephews.

Willie L. peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Bryan, Texas at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his parents George Walker, Jr and Odell Hickman Walker;his older brothers Alvin Walker and Elvin Walker and an older sister Emma Jean Walker.

Willie L. is survived by his son and daughter -in-law Bruce and ( Traci) Gamble of Dallas, Texas; four siblings, Carolyn Jean Finley of Dallas, Tx, Barbara Walker Guillory and brother in law Andon ” Henry Lee” Guillory, Evelyn Walker James, and Joe Lee Walker all of Bryan, Tx ; one granddaughter, Davin Gamble; host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
