Ivory Rhodes

The Sun rose on Ivory Rhodes on February 23, 1933. He was born to Nathaniel Sr. and Margaret Rhodes of Brazos County. Ivory was the fourth of twelve children.
He attended school in Brazos County. After graduating High School, Ivory joined the Military and moved to California where he spent most of his life. Ivory loved family, friend, playing cards, dominoes, dancing and listening to music. He also loved sharing stories about his military service.
At the age of 84, Ivory decided to move back to his hometown of Bryan, Texas to spend time with his nephews and nieces.
Ivory was preceded in death by both parents, Nathaniel Rhodes Sr. and Margaret Johnson Rhodes-Williams; stepfather, Rufus Williams; two brothers, Nathaniel Rhodes Jr. and Jesse Rhodes; three sisters, Lula Kearney Williams, Ruth Williams and Cleo Rhodes.
Ivory is survived by Maurice Williams of California, Dorothy Williams and Doris Williams both of Bryan, Glen Williams (Barbara) of Dallas, Rufus Williams Jr. of California, Louise Moten (Bubba) of Houston, Margaret Ann (James) of California and a host of nieces and nephews in California and Texas along with a special friend Vanessa Moody of California.
