In Loving Memory of Mrs. Christene E. Jones
Obituary
On January 15, 1951, a precious baby girl, Christene Estelle Rhone, was born to the late Jessie
Order of Service
and Fronnie Estelle Rhone in Bryan, Texas.
Christene professed Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a member of the New
Chapel Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend S.E. Diggs. Coming from a very
musical family, Christene was an avid piano player and had the voice of an Angel.
She attended Bryan Public Schools and even was a contestant for “Miss Neal Jr. High” where
she placed 3rd. She furthered her education and graduated from E.A. Kemp High School in the
Class of 1969. She later met and married Zak Jones in June of 1969. To this union, two sons
were born, Zachary and Broderick.
She worked as a Tax Accountant for many years, and other jobs that displayed her many gifts.
Christene loved family and music with passion, even in singing and playing it. She loved a good
laugh, and she will be dearly missed.
Christene was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rhone, and four brothers, Calvin,
Jessie Jr., David and Oscar Rhone.
On July 31, 2024, Christene departed this life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and
sister, and no stranger to anyone she met.
