Obituary

Raymond Charles Childs was born September 01, 1941 to John B. Childs, Sr. and Annie Mae Twitty
Childs in Bryan, Texas.
He confessed his love for Christ at a young age and was baptized at Greater Salem Missionary Baptist
Church.
Raymond grew up with a family that loved the Lord and loved to sing in the community. He, along with
his siblings and parents would go to different churches, events, as well as radio broadcasts to sing. His
mother was well known in the community for orchestrating a singing group called “Mrs. Annie Mae Childs
& the Spiritual Wonders,” which was made up of himself, his siblings, and friends that are well known
ministers and pastors, and are serving and singing still in the community and churches today.
Raymond graduated from high school and began his working career driving trucks. He enjoyed riding his
motorcycle with friends in his spare time.
Raymond went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Preceding him in
death is his parents, grandparents, sisters, Viola and Anna Lois, and brothers, Marvin Louis Childs, and
John B. Childs, Jr.
Raymond left to cherish his memory: two daughters, Sharon Jackson, and Vanessa Evans; one son-in-law,
Tommie Ford; seven grandchildren, Lu’ture, Kevon, Na’Kea, Dajia all of Denver, Colorado, Tiemiesha,
Tony, Derrick. Dedsimond, and Tiemyfleya all of Houston, Texas; 18 great-grandchildren; a remarkable
nephew, Dr. Don Renchie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 11:00 AM Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan Texas 77803

Visitation services will be held on Friday February 10, 2023 from 11:00A.M. until 6:30P.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street Bryan, Texas 77803
