Obituary

Queen was born to the proud parents, Dan and Mary Ann Johnson, on February 8, 1943, in Bryan,
Texas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Elder C.H. Hunter and was a faithful
member, serving in several positions at the Church of Living God while growing up and also in the later
years of her life. She served as a Youth Director, Church Secretary, and did anything she could for the
edification of the Church of the Living God.
Queen graduated from E.A. Kemp High School in 1961.
She Married Emmitt Walker, and he preceded her in death. To this union, Ronnie Walker, Emmit
Walker, Jr., Shelia M. Walker, and Connie Rhodes were born. Infant Emmit Walker, Jr., Ronnie Walker,
and Connie Rhodes preceded her in death.
She was employed by Bryan Public School System from the early 1960s to the early 1970s. She then
pursued the legal field and worked for attorneys and Brazos County, where she retired. She returned to
the workforce and worked for Walker Bail Bonds for about five and a half years.
On November 17, 2007, Queen and Luther Townsend were united in Holy Matrimony at Greater
Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. Queen and Luther were faithful attendees at Greater Faith for one and
a half years prior to them uniting with Greater Faith Fellowship Baptist Church on November 18, 2007.
She served as a Sunday School Secretary, acting president of the mission.
On November 13, 2011, Queen and Luther Townsend moved their mission to Pleasant Grove
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Craig Anderson, where she remained faithful
until her demise.
Queen was also preceded in death by her mother, father, four brothers, and three sisters.
She leaves with precious memories her loving, devoted husband, Luther Townsend; child, Shelia
Walker of Bryan, Texas; six grandchildren, Shiron Walker of Fallas, Texas, Brittney Cole and Terrika
Cole of Bryan, Texas, Lauren Nix of Georgetown, Texas, Constance Rhodes and Tachyna Watson of
Houston, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Brianna and Jayden Wallace of Bryan, Texas, Malachy Morgan
of Houston, Texas and Corinne Nix of Georgetown, Texas; Sister Una Mae Sims of Bryan, Texas and
many other relatives including sibling-like cousins Ella Brown of Dallas, Texas, Annie Auston of Bryan,
Texas, Odessa Johnson of Texas City and Willie C. Johnson of Dallas, Texas

Visitation services will be held on Friday September 9, 10:00 A.M.until 7:00P.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral home located at 401 W 18th street, Bryan, Texas 77803

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 11:00 A.M. Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church
