Home Going Celebration for King Jairus S. Johnson

Obituary

Jairus Shemar Johnson, known to many as JB, was born June 27, 2000 in Bryan,
Texas to Nadeen Laird and J.W. Johnson. Jairus was the youngest of three children.
Jairus attended Bryan ISD and was enrolled to receive his GED.
Jairus loved spending time with his family and friends. He was quite the ladies’ man. He
had a smile that could light up any dark room. He was kind, respectful, full of life and wise
beyond his years. He uplifted every one of his friends with kind words of encouragement
and advice. He loved basketball, and music was his passion. There are so many words that
could describe Jairus, but the one that stands out is love.
Jairus was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Itelia Laird; grandfather, Robert
Lee Johnson, aunt, Linda Hammond, uncle, Johnnie Lee Johnson, and best friend,
Donovan Lenford.
Jairus is survived by his mother, Nadeen Laird of Houston, Texas; his father, J.W.
Johnson of Bryan, Texas; brother, Octavius Williams of Manhattan, New York; sister,
Andrea Williams of College Station, Texas; grandparents, Deborah and Willie Fillmore of
Houston, Texas; grandmother, Mandy Johnson of Bryan, Texas; god-parents, Cedric and
Joanna Rhodes of Bryan, Texas; his best friend, Cloe Ina; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins,
other relatives and friends.
