Obituary

A Celebration of Life On September 9, 1962, a handsome baby boy by the name of John DeWayne aka (Tweet) was born to the late parents Alice Davenport and Alton Moore. He was an only child until Alice later met and married Bobbie Washington where he gained a bonus dad as well as a bonus brother. Although he was Alice’s only child you would have never known it because he was accompanied by his many aunties and uncles of relative age. As he grew up he blended in as another one of the siblings as opposed to a newphew referrring to his grandparents as mom and dad. During his early childhood he enjoyed hanging out with his aunties, cousins, and uncles catching snakes, frogs, shooting marbles, rubber shooters, and playing around the world basketball which was later put to good use as one of the basketball players for Thomas Jeff erson High School. He loved his family and was very family oriented. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially when he was preparing his all too famous barbecue and oxtails. He also enjoyed shooting pool, cooking, playing cards, listening to music, dancing, hanging out with friends, and watching sports. He was a true die hard San Francisco FortyNiners fan and was more than elated as they advanced to the Super Bowl this past season. He was one of the kindest people in the world with a heart of gold and a smile worth a million dollars. When you saw him you were met with a cheerful smile that would touvh anyone’s heart. He never complained about anything. He met no strangers and would help anyone in need without expecting anything in return. Anyone who came in contact with him gained a wonderful friend and had immediate love for him. Tweet had a charming personality and would light up any room that he enetered. He was always ready for a good time. He loved to party and was the life of the party. With that being said, he would want nothing less than a celebration of his life for this occasion! He was indeed your all-around American guy! Tweet att ended Bryan Public Schools during his early years, but later moved to California where he was a studentof Los Angeles Unifi ed School District. He graduated from Thomas Jeff erson High School. After graduating, he moved back to Texas where he resided in Bryan and worked at Alenco, before returning to California where he would reconnect and marry his high school sweetheart, Jessica Harmon. To this union, one son was born, Jahjuan, joining his big brother, John, Jr aka (Lil Tweet) from a previous relationship. Upon arriving in California, Tweet acquired a job with Toyota Motor Company as a Press Operator where he worked for a number of years. As years passed, he once again moved back to Texas, this timne to Houston where he worked at Tobisha International Corporation holding the same job title of a Press Operator where he would work until his health began to fail. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice Washington, Alton Moore, and Bobbie Washington; grandparents, Jesse L. Davenpot, Sr., Minnie M. Davenport, and Clara Moore; He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories, his loving wife, Jessica; two sons, John, Jr., and Jahjuan Davenport, all of Houston, Texas; one bonus brother, Bobbie Washington, Jr. of Los Angeles, California; one sister-in-law, Donna Grigsby, of Spring, Texas; one brother-inlaw, Everett e Harmon, of Los Angeles, California; fi ve aunties, Evelyn Franklin of San Antonio, Texas, Beverley Waldon and Charlott e Davenport of Los Angeles , California, Annett e Walton of Houston, Texas, Jean Moore of Pearland, Texas; three uncles, Jesse, Jr. and Joseph Davenport of Bryan, Texas, and Johnny Moore of Millican, Texas; one niece, Lauren Grigsby, of Spring, Texas; one nephew, Farrenton Grigsby, of Los Angeles, California; two god-children, Sequoia and William Bircher, of Los Angeles, California; eight is enough brotherly friends, Robert Hunter, Gerald Chestand, Rafo Markovic, Fredrick Henley, Anthony Sims, Anthony Fuller, Terry Hughes, Gavin Miller, and a host of other relatives and friends.
