Homegoing Celebration for Jewel Morriel, Sr.

Obituary

Jewel Morriel Sr’s earthly journey ended January 25, 2024 at the age of 81. His story began on October 1, 1942. He was born to Beatrice C and Henry C McNeal. Jewel gave his life to Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Eugene Ealoms at Revival Tabernacle in Hearne, TX and later under the leadership of Elder John H Ealoms of St. Joseph Church of God in Christ in Franklin, TX. 

Jewel was a husband before anything. He made sure that his wfie and kids had everything they needed. His favorite hobby was fishing. He also prided himself in the upkeep of his yard. He was a hard working man. The prime example of what a man is suppose to do. He had only three jobs in his entire life. A few years at Mr Frank’s Gulf Station in Hearne and R B Butler in Bryan. He retired from his position of 27 years as Lead Maintenance at Bryan ISD, where he received accolades and awards for perfect attendance. 

Jewel Morriel Sr was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Morriel, father Henry McNeal, son Dwayne Morriel and grandson James Miller, Jr. 

Jewel Morriel Sr is surivied by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Morriel, who will always be his “Honey”. Brother, Hosea Morriel (Audrey), sister Robbie Childs, two daughters, Sandra Wallace, Tyler, TX and Patricia Morriel Bryan, TX, two sons, Jewel Morriel Jr (Franchelle) Bryan, TX, Marcus Ealoms, Bryan, TX, and Antone Perry, Dallas, TX, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. 

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 3, 2024 2:30PM First Methodist Church located at 506 E 28th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803

Visitation Service: Friday, February 2, 2024 from 3:30PM until 6:30PM at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803
