Sunrise: July 28, 1944 Sunset: March 9, 2022

Jimmie Lee Jones was born July 28, 1944 to Henry Lee Jones and Bessie Catherine Jones in Wheelock, Texas. He  gave his life to Christ at an early age. He remained faithful as he later joined Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist  Church. 

At an early age he moved to Bryan, Texas where he attended school. He honorably served in the United States Air  Force. He was a longtime and valued employee of Pride Refinery, Inc., in Abilene, Texas for 23 years. After  retirement from Pride he moved back to Bryan to reside in his hometown. 

Jimmie (Uncle Sonny) truly loved his family. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others no matter  the situation or circumstance. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a diehard fan until the end. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee Jones and Bessie Catherine Jones, brother, J.D. Jones  (Peter), sister Ella Ree Jones Taylor (Susie) and grandson, Frank Kershaw, Jr. 

He leaves cherished memories to his daughter, Yvetta Winston (Ron); step- daughter, Meshell Harrison; 5 sisters,  Bobbie Jean Jones, Leola Jones, Patricia Jones, Bessie Jones, Gladys Jones; one brother, Tommy E. Jones; special  aunt and uncle, Dessie Glover and Zeak Glover, Jr.; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is loved and  remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Visitation will be held on Friday March 18, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 7:00pm at Daniel & Son Funeral Home 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday March 19, 2022 at United Full Gospel Baptist Church located at 1600 W Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Bryan, Texas 77803

  1. Yvetta, so very sorry for your loss cousin. I know too well what you’re feeling. Sorry I can’t be there in the physical as I’m still grieving my Mama and Daddy, I will be there with you in spirit. God is sufficient. Hold onto his unchanging hands. Love you, Chica!
