Deborah Lanell Durens

Screenshot_2018-09-05-13-46-15~2 Deborah Lanell Durens was born in Houston, TX on September 12, 1953 to the late Robert Henry and Doris Marie Durens.

Deborah graduated from Galena Park High School in 1972.  She attended Texas Southern University and studied Sociology.

Deborah later moved to Bryan, TX where she met, and married Ronald Foley.  To this union three children were born. Ta-Shauna (Nony, the peace maker), Trenica (Treky, the Firecraker ),and Terrence (Tee, or as Momma called him, “Son” our Protector).

Deborah, fondly called the “Queen Bee,” by those who loved her most, worked for Brazos County, as a 911 Dispatcher, for 23 years.  She loved her job and those that she worked with. But, because she knew where all the crime areas were, we could rarely leave the house without a lesson on where we could and could not go, or about being sure the car doors were locked at all times.  Thanks 911!

Deborah accepted Christ at an early age, and served her church, North Bryan New Birth, faithfully for over 25 years.   She loved both of the pastors that she served, Pastor Lonzell Payton Jr, and Pastor Sam Hill.

Deborah loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She traveled all over for games and competitions. She was the best Mommie and her grandkids love her dearly.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children;  Ta-Shauna Green (Alan Sr.), Trenica Foley (Byron), both of Bryan, TX.  Terrence Foley (Ivy) of Haslet, TX.

Her loving mother, Doris Durens.

Her siblings; Ronald  Durens of Bryan, TX, Deana Willis (Herb) of Houston, TX, Tommy Durens (Shonta) of Bryan, TX, Pamela Durens of Round Rock, TX.

Her nine adoring grandchildren; Alan Green Jr. (Sunshine), Korbin Cunningham (Keno), Aden Green, Jason Badger, Karmelo Cunningham (Melo), Amariah Cunningham (Baby), Terrence Foley II (Mr. Foley), Aspen Green (Lala), and Kyle Foley (DR Foley).

Two great-grandchildren; Legend Green and Prince Green.

She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Oh Ms. Deborah.. You were such a beautiful person inside and out. The love that you had for your kids and grand (and great grands) was nothing short of beautiful… If I could be a fraction of the mother that you were, I’ll be doing ok. I’m grateful to God for allowing me to be in the presence of pure grace.. Rest in Peace Queen. We love you Nony, Tee and Treky..
