Cora L. Toliver
Cora Lee Toliver, our beloved mother, and grandmother was born July 16, 1939, to Marie Green and Willie Davis in Mumford, Texas.
Cora accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend U.S. Keeling at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she remained until her health failed.
She met her husband James Toliver and they were united on October 14, 1964. To this union, three children were born.
Cora enjoyed cooking and being surrounded by family. Her favorite past time was sitting and watching her grandkids play or being in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
Proceeding her in death were her parents Willie Davis and Marie Green; her husband James A. Toliver Sr., her daughter Kimberly Toliver; three brothers Morris Davis, Willie Davis and James Davis and her sister Ruby Waggoner.
She leaves to cherish her memories two children James A. Toliver Jr. (Angie) and Marilyn R. Toliver; three grandchildren James Kameron Toliver, Miles Jorden Poole, and Jacoby Terrell Toliver; one brother Robert Green (Sandra), three sisters Geraldine Horton (James), Artenia Humphrey (Robert), and Helena Preston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special friends: Donna Cunningham, Reisha Hill, Callie Byrd, and Vera Mosley.
Such a lovely lady. I transported her many timestimes to Dialysis and Dr appointments for nearly 6 years. I came to love her like she was my own grandma. She always asked about my wife and children and we would laugh and joke together. I’ll always remember two blankets even in summer because she was always cold. As well as red tootsie pops and juicy fruit, her favorite. She will always be Mama T to me and I will love and remember her forever.
