Celebration of Life For Rosie Mae Jones
Obituary
Rosie Mae Jones was born in Bryan Texas on April 20th, 1941. She is one of fourteen children born to the union of Mr. Simon Jones and Georgia Ann Hardy Jones. Rosie was educated in the Fairview School System now known as Bryan Independent School District. Rosie relocated to California to pursue her dream of travel and join her big sister Viola. Rosie and Viola were a source of strength and encouragement to each other. They were always willing to help each other as they explored life together in the big city. They worked at the same manufacturing plant, and they loved providing home healthcare service to the elderly at Orchard Gables Nursing Home in Los Angeles, California. After leaving Orchard Gables she went to work for the federal government in the janitorial department until she retired.
Upon returning to Texas, for a little while, Rosie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord &Savior and attended the Potter’s House in DallasTexas, until her returned to California. She loved & continued her fellowship at the Potter’s House online. She will be remembered for her jolly laughter, bright smile, and her love for family. She willingly shared that love and laughter with everyone she knew.
Rosie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Simon and Georgia Ann Jones; her brothers, Willie Lee Jones, Segarry Jones, Hillard (A.J.) Jones and Harvey Jones; her sisters: Deola (Jones) Williams, Viola (Jones) Jenkins, Annie Mae (Jones) McCray, Cora Lee (Jones) Taylor and her infant daughter, Franshawn Jones. She is survived her children Diane Lynn Jones, Linda Joy Jones (Conner), Wanda Jones Simms (Wesley), Roderick Eugene Jones. Her brothers, Simon Jones Jr Frankie Lee Jones, Herman Jones and RobertC, Jones (Charlie Mae) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 11:00A.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803
Visitation Services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 5:30P.M. until 6:30P.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803
