Sister Mollie Delores Porter Campbell the sixth of eight children was born on March 18,1936 in Gonzalez, Texas to Phillip and Gussie Greathouse Porter.
Sister Campbell confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Providence Baptist Church, Gonzales, Texas.
Sister Campbell attended public schools in Gonzales, Texas and graduated from Edwardds High School in 1954. After graduating she moved to Houston, Texas and attended Texas Southern University where she met and married Ralph D. Campbell, Sr. To this union eight children were born. Sister Campbell was a military wife and stay at home mom. Her husband’s military career took the family from Texas to Virgina, Tennessee and Florida. Her husband retired from the military in 1972 and relocated the family to his childhood home of Bryan, Texas. Sister Campbell then became employed and retired from the Texas A&M University System. She devoted over twenty years of service. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her long-time friends at Reed Arena and attending the A.M.E Church Conferences.
Upon returning to Texas the family united with Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. She later moved her membership to Stearne Chapel A.M.E. Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member, Sister Campbell served as Superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Choir Trustee, Stewardess, and Steward. She was a willing worker and served wherever she was needed.
Sister Campbell was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Gussie Porter, her brothers, Oscar (Nova Lee) O.B. (Minnie Dororthy) Phillip, Ernest (Mildred) one sister, Essie.
Sister Campbell leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Mary (R.A. deceased) one brother, Johnny (Rayetta). Children, Susan (Eddie deceased), Ralph Jr,. Ronald Bruce (Roxanne) June (Jackie). Robin, Leslie, Wesley (Felicia). Grandchildren Khasi (Shanelle) Derke/Bo Michael, Ryan Sr. (Alfrica), Brian, Stephanie, Sean, Nicole Christina, Cameron, Amaya, Zniya, Great Grandchildren, Donte, Ryan Jr., Kamari, Lataya, Paris Liam and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
