Mrs. Lonnie Faye Alexander, a native of Brownsville, Texas, and current resident of Caldwell, Texas, was born on March 14, 1941, to the late Edgar Carroll and Bernice Lee Carroll. Mrs. Alexander joined the Whites Chapel A.M.E church at an early age. After her husband retired from ministry, they became members of Immanuel Christian
Fellowship Church, under the leadership of Reverend Thurman Sims. While living in Caldwell, she attended Freeman High School. Upon returning to Caldwell from Houston, she worked for Nagel Wire and the Brazos Transit District, where she retired after thirty-nine years of service. She began her journey with Brazos Transit when the organization operated with only nine vans, serving the residents of Burleson County. During her work, she became a trusted friend, a helping hand, and to many, a family member. Before her illness, she loved shopping, taking pictures of others and family, sitting with relatives and friends sharing the history of their loved ones, and chatting daily with her daughter and grandson.
Lonnie Faye was previously married to Allen Toland; they had two children, Kenneth A. Toland and Charlotte E. Toland. She later married James Alexander on April 19, 1971. Mr. Alexander had four children: Barbra Alexander, Clarence Alexander, Toneil Alexander, and Lula Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Carroll and Bernice Lee Harrison, step- father, Charlie Harrison, Jr., husband Reverend James Alexander, and a son, Kenneth Ardwin Toland. She leaves to cherish her memories, Charlotte Moore and her husband, Dean, step- brother, Charles Harrison, and grandson, Kenneth Dante Toland.
