Lester Ellis was the sixth child born in the family of twelve children with the togetherness building a loving bond through Tommy and Jessie Mae Ellis. He grew up in the country of Brushy Community where he first attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Burleson County until the church became associated with Clayton Baptist Church in the community where he was a member later in life.

Lester learned many things from his parents, and this is where he received such giving and caring spirit. He graduated from E.A. Kemp High School in 1963.
Lester was always busy in the neighborhood, moving trash, digging or transporting waste or good for the elderly or ill residents. He worked for several years for Brazos Valley Flooring and Design until his retirement. After that he did most of the jobs no one else wanted to do.

Lester was preceded in death by parents, Tommy and Jessie Mae Ellis; sisters, Tommye Ellis James and Betty Pearl Ellis; brothers, Johnny Sims Ellis, Sr., Lawrence Charles Ellis and Merion Earl Ellis. We will cherish special memories always – sister, Ruby Ellis Waller; brother, Leon Ellis, sister, Joyce Ellis Newton, and a brother, Anthony Paul Ellis; a truck load of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
