Born October 31st ,1966, Joan Washington, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend has passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Joan was a proud and loving mother to three children, who were the center of her life and her greatest joy. She dedicated herself to nurturing, guiding, and supporting them, always putting family first and ensuring they knew they were deeply loved.
Known for her warm heart, generous spirit, a colorful way with words and unwavering resilience. Joan touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Whether offering a comforting word, a helping hand, or a joyful laugh, she had a special way of bringing people together.
She has left to cherish her memory by her children and grandchildren Jasmine (Kerri/Kiare) Dashawn (Zion) and Desmond. She’s also survived by her 6 siblings Clarissa (Aaron), Zelda (Anthony) , Shawn), Tanya (Dennis) Paulette and many nieces/nephews she loved and adored.
She’s preceded in death by her parents Edward Sr. and Sylvia Mae. And also, her brothers Edward Jr. and Devin. Joan will be remembered for her love of family, her strength in difficult times, and the compassion she showed to others. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, siblings, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date. The family asks that those who remember her honor her memory by sharing kindness with others, just as she always did.
She will forever be loved and never forgotten.
