Helen Marie Moore passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Burleson County, Texas on June 9, 1933, she was a cherished daughter to the late Willie C. and Viola Williams. Helen was a proud graduate of E.A Kemp High School in Bryan, Texas. Following graduation, her artistic flair and desire to care for others led her to earn her Cosmetologist Certificate in 1962. For many years, she brightened the lives of her clients as a talented stylist, retiring to focus on her family and community involvement with her longtime church, Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Her commitment to service was evident in her many years as a dedicated Usher at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She greeted every person with a warm smile and ensured all felt welcome as they entered for worship.
Helen’s life was defined by her boundless generosity and profound love for her family and her church. She was the heart of her home, creating a safe space filled with warmth, laughter, and acceptance. She was the matriarch in every sense of the word, creating a home that was the epicenter of warmth, laughter, and acceptance. Helen had an unparalleled ability to make every person who walked through her door feel welcome, loved, and completely at home.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas L. Moore, her parents, Willie C. and Viola Williams, and her siblings: Willie V. Thompson (Honey), Jessie James Williams (Uncle Man), Robert Lee Willams, and Loyd Willams. Ms. Moore was such a joy to be around. She ALWAYS had a warm smile and a welcoming spirit. Sending my condolences and love to the family. ❤️
There’s so much I’d love to say about Mrs. Helen, but what stands out most is her loving kindness whenever she saw me. She was one of the most gracious women I’ve ever known. Her love was unconditional, and she accepted me completely for who I am, loving me deeply. Her joyful spirit always shined through, and she spoke lovingly of her family—her children Wandah (Roy) and Richard (Jennifer), and her beloved grandchildren. She was so proud of their accomplishments. She also loved staying active in the church and served in many roles within the body of Christ, demonstrating her deep devotion to her faith.
I know this is a tough time for everyone. Please stay strong and lean on the Lord. Remember what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord,” giving us comfort in knowing that Mom is now resting peacefully in the Arms of Jesus.
With love always,
Ann, Gregory, Anette, Aria
