Evelyn Delorse Jackson was born on June 30, 1960, in Mumford, Texas, to the late Lillian Victoria Burleson and General Washington Burleson.
A devoted member of Brazos Valley Fellowship in College Station, Texas, Evelyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures – she delighted in shopping, cleaning, heartfelt visits, loved to worship, and treasured time spent with her family.
Evelyn’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted husband, Abner James Jackson; her sons, Cedric Burleson (Tranika Burleson), Bobby Burleson (Lorraina Burleson), and Eric Hawkins; her daughter, Shontane Burleson (Emanuel Milton); her
brothers, Johnnie Burleson, Charles Burleson, and Dennis Burleson (Chenitha
Burleson); her sisters, Dorise Buggs (Dexter Buggs) and Carol Clark (Bradley Todd
Clark). She also leaves behind a proud legacy in her grandchildren – Sa’dedric, Jatijah,
Antoinette, Jania, Rihanna, BJ, Dillion, and Damien – and her great-grandchildren,
Ke’money and Ki’zeir, along with a host of extended family and dear friends whose
lives she touched with warmth and grace.
