Obituary

Edward Keith (Bubba) Moten was born in Bryan, Texas to John David Moten, Jr and Charlie Mae Moten-Matthews in Bryan, Texas. At an early age, Bubba was baptized by Reverend U.S. Keeling at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later moved to Houston, Texas where he joined The Fountain of Praise Church under the leadership! of Reverend Remus Wright. Bubba attended church regularly for 30 years until his health began to fail

Bubba was a natural athlete, excelling in football, basketball, baseball and track.

Though he shined in many sports, track and football held a special place in his heart.

He loved the Dallas Cowboys! Bubba’s competitive spirit and dedication on the hield mirrored the way he approached life with passion, determination, and an unyieldiny commitment to those he loved.

For 52 beautiful years, he shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Louise Moten. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising thei three sons, Randy, Greg and Keith. As a father, he was always present, supportive and he meant what he said. Bubba loved his family, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them. Beyond his family, Bubba was a cherished friend, a mentor, and a man of integrity. His warm presence, wisdom, and great sense of humor left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering words of encouragement, or simply sharing a good story, he made the world brighter with his presence. Bubba leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.

Bubba was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Hines Moten, his father, John David Moten, Jr, mother, Charlie Mae Moten Matthews, stepfather, O.C.

Left to cherish Bubba’s memory are his wife, Louise Moten, his three sons, Randolph “Randy” Moten (Dena), Greg Moten (Renée) and Edward “Keith” Moten II, his sister Johnnie Mae Moten Cunningham, his grandchildren, Jackson Moten and Gregory Moten Il also known as Deuce – along with nieces, nephews and host of other family and friends.

Bubba’s memory lives on in the lives of those he touched.

His unwavering love, strength, and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rest well, Bubba, your legacy, and your unwavering presence will never be forgotten,

  1. Aunt Louise, Randy, Keith, Gregory, and the entire Moten family,

    I extend my sincere condolences to you all. I’m truly sorry we were unable to attend, but please know that you and your family are in our prayers. Uncle Bubba was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who was cherished by everyone. He will certainly be missed. His infectious laugh and smile brought joy to all who knew him, and each of us has wonderful memories of being in his presence. Now that he is with the Lord, take comfort in knowing that one day we will see him again.
