Born Alma Jeane Moore on January 29, 1944 in Bryan, Texas to Alfred James Moore and Clara Ree Moore. She accepted Christ at an early age and was active member at Saint Matthew Baptist Church – College Station before
moving to Los Angeles, California in the early 1960’s.
Alma Jeane grew up during our nation’s Separate but Equal Era.

She graduated among the top of her class from the all-colored Lincoln High School in I961. She later enrolled at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Education. She convinced her mother to allow her to move to Los Angeles where she promised to finish school. She completed her education at Los Angeles City College. She also attended the American Banking Institute becoming certified and launching her career in banking. Alma Teane was hired as a bank teller at Crocker Bank (now Wells Faroo) and spent almost 30 vears in the financial services industry. Working at Black owned Bank of Finance and retiring from Rockwell Federal Credit Union (now Financial Partners Credit Union) as an operations manager in 1992.
Alma Jeane was introduced to Fred Lee Neal by her brothers. They later married June 25, 1967. Fred and Alma Jeane worshiped at Figueroa Church of Christ under the leadership of R. N. Hogan. One son, Frank Dimitrius Neal, was born from this union.

Alma Jeane was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars (OES) in Six Houses: Esther Chapter #105 • Queen Christina Court #12 AMARATH • Rahab Court #1 Heroines of Jericho Alpha Council #1 Lady Knights of Templar • Zamora Court #1 Daughters of Sphinx Sable Royal Ladies Palace #1 33/last degree .Being active in OES, she met a married a Mason, Elmer Ray Jones in 1980. Elmer and Alma Jeane worshiped at Hays Tabernacle CME Church under the pastorate of N.C. Hashaway. At Hays Alma Jeane served as the Church Treasurer and served on the Congregational Care Ministry. Elmer and Alma Jeane remained married until his death in 1992.

After becoming a grandmother, Alma Jeane moved back to Texas, buying a home in Pearland. She joined Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in January 2009, where she was a faithful member, serving with the Congregational Care Ministry and the Communications Corps. She enjoyed over 20 years of retirement, she especially loved the road trips with her grandchildren.

Alma Jeane is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ray Jones; her parents, AJ & Clara Ree Moore; her brothers, James Moore and Johnnie Payton; and her brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Clara Mae Moore; and her sister, Margaret Moore. Alma Jeane leaves to cherish her loving memory her only son, Frank Dimitrius Neal; her grandchildren, Matthew and Mya Neal; a sister, Melba (Paul) Madison of Bryan, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Betty Payton of Wellborn Texas and Hazel Dale of Carson, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
