Obituary

On May 8, 1957 Donald Fredrick Butler began his journey of Life, and it was completed January
17, 2023. He was born to the proud parents of Marshall Butler and Mary Ellen Jones Butler.
Donald spent his primary years at Deanville Elementary and high school years in his hometown of
Caldwell, TX in Burleson County. He graduated May 1975 from Caldwell High School. Following
high school, Donald attended Texas State Technical College, Waco, TX graduating May 1978 with
an Associate of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He also studied at Houston
Community College, North Harris County College and became a Certified Survey Technician in
1995 with the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.
He began his career at Southwestern Laboratories, in Houston, TX in 1978-1988 in the
Technician/Construction, Material Division. Other jobs include Associated Testing, Lab, Houston,
TX, 1988-1990, Lichlighter & Jameson, Houston, TX, 1990-1993. He began his Party Chief career
with Tuttle-Maddux Surveying, Conroe, TX, 1993-2003, Westbelt Surveying, Houston, TX,
2003-2004, TSC Surveying, Conroe, TX, 2004-2005 and Survtech Corporation 2005 – Present.
In 1980 he joined and was baptized at the Creston Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership
of Reverend Leroy Ross. On April 5, 1980 he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Harris.
They spent years travelling in their spare time going various places including Disney World in
Florida, The Grand Canyon in Arizona, Las Vegas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Maui
and Kauai Hawaii, Calgary, Lake Louise, and Banff Canada.
On April 14, 1986 his only child, Adrian James Butler, was born. He dedicated his life to his son
where he spent countless times at games, practice and whatever Adrian decided to do. He was his
best friend. On August 10, 2007 his joy, Ava Kate Butler was born. He thought he was busy with
Adrian but that was nothing compared to all the activities he spent chasing his grandbaby. On July
15, 2014 his joy was complete when Aaliyah Marie Butler was born. Talking about love, he loved
that little girl. He gained three more grandchildren (Rae, Deion and Kailee) with Adrian’s marriage
to LaTisha McAdams and took them as his own and loved them the same. He attended all their
activities as well.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Butler, father, Marshall Butler and brothers
James Willie Butler and Curtis Manual.
His surviving family include Jeanette Butler, his loving and dedicated wife of forty-two years; son,
Adrian Butler (LaTisha); grandchildren, Rae Bradley, Deion McAdams, Kailee McAdams, Ava
Butler and Aaliyah Butler; brothers Ralph Butler (Rosie), Michael Butler (Hazel), Kelvin Butler
(Nancy), Alonzo Butler (Gwen); sister, Bessie Evans; sister-in-law Beverly Butler; Godson, James
Keayatti Evans; Aunts, Annie Jones, Mable Rivers, Ruby Johnson, Leola Jones, and Velma Clark,
Uncle, Jeremiah Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
