On Saturday, July 4th, 2026, the good Lord saw how tired you were and said, it is time. It is time for Lorenza Leon Hill Jr. to come home. Time to enter eternal rest. Lorenza was born on March 29th, 1951, in Bryan, Texas, to the late Lorenza Hill Sr. and Sallie Mae Thurmon Hill.
Lorenza surrendered his life to Jesus Christ at an early age and began his Christian experience at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan, TX where he was baptized by Rev. R. W. Weaton. As the years passed, Lorenza moved his membership to the Church of Kingdom Focus Ministries under the leadership of Rev. James C. Whiting, where he was ordained as a Deacon.
Due to continued failing health issues, Lorenza was no longer able to attend church services regularly.
During his early childhood, he attended school in Brazos County and graduated from Kemp High School in 1969.
He met and married Earnestine Jackson. To this union two beautiful and loving children were born, Lorenza L. Hill III and CaTrina L. Hill. Later in life he gained a goddaughter, Kim Jackson, who started out as the family babysitter, but became a second daughter.
Lorenza was a quiet gentle soul who had a love for bowling, playing dominoes and his favorite pass time was talking on his CB radio with his CB friends. He was known to the CB world as “Big Daddy Kane” and would travel in and out of state to meet with his CB family. “Breaker, breaker, Big Daddy Kane has signed off for the last time……10-4 over and out”.
Lorenza was preceded in death by his father, Lorenza L. Hill Sr., sister, Judy Wilson and brothers, Robert Hill, David Hill, Michael Hill, and Curtis Hill.
He leaves lasting memories to cherish with his son, Lorenza Hill I!! (oy) of Bryan, IX, two daughters, Calrina James) Johnson of Madisonville, IX, and Kim (Charles) Jackson Sr. of Bryan, TX. His mother, Sallie M. Hill, two sisters, Delores M. Farlough (Earl) and Terry Golden, two brothers, Raymond Hill (Freema) and Howard Hill (Jackie) all of Bryan, T, two aunts, Linda Thurmon and Margert Toliver, his special friend, Pamela McNeely, and his CB family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends
