Lon Morris Mosley lovingly known as “Bubba” passed away on June 26, 2026 in Bryan, Texas. He was 71 years old. Born in on February 16, 1955 in Mckinney, Texas, Lon lived a lie marked by resilience, warmth, and an unwavering devotion in his family,
Lon graduated from South Oak Cliff High School, where he proudly played the baritone horn in the outstanding Golden Bears Marching Band. He later attended Texas Southern University in a band scholarship and performed as a member of the legendary Ocean of Soul Marching Band, as a young man, Lon faced significant adversity, but he found the strength and determination to turn his life around. He eventually earned a degree in Finance from Texas A&M University, a proud accomplishment not only for Lon but for his family.
Lon owned and operated his own trucking business for several years before later driving for a local oil company until the pandemic. During the final years of his beloved mother’s life, when she needed someone to care for her at home. Lon stepped forward without hesitation. He became her faithful and devoted caregiver, providing her with love, comfort, and companionship she deserved,
If you ever met Lon, you remember that smile. It was the biggest smile in the room, accompanied by the most wonderful laugh. He adored his nephews and nieces, and if you flip through old photos, you’ll find him in picture after picture, embracing loved ones with affection.
Lon was a devoted Dallas area sports team, The Dallas Cowboys, always and forever, The Dallas Mavericks, The Texas Rangers, He loved them through thick and thin. The thing he especially enjoyed was getting out onto the lake for a little fishing, Lon and his brother Marl were frequent companions of their father on guys only fishing trips, a tradition they carried forward in recent years when they owned their own boats.
Lon was preceded in death by his father, Lon Wiggins Mosley; his mother, Juanita Vernell Bowser Mosley, and his sister Erma Dianne Mosley.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Mark Anthony Mosley, his sister, Deborah Vongerichten; his nephews, Jason Lewiss, Colin Mosley. and Micah Mosley; and his nieces, Amber Bowerman, Nicolette Mosley, Ava Bowerman and Alyssa Bowerman.
