Celebrating the Life of Hezekiah Carter, Sr.

Obituary

Hezekiah Carter, Sr. was born-April 25, 1933 in the Doak Springs Community of Lee County, TX to the loving parents of Hesekiah and Ruby (Williams) Carter. He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and graduated from Doak Springs High School.

Hezekiah was a quiet man who loved GOD, family, and watching westerns. He was very skilled in carpentry and auto mechanics. He also loved to play dominoes. Family reunions rarely went on without him sitting at a table to enjoy a game.

Hezekiah married his soulmate, Barbara Jean Pool on July 25, 1954. To this union, 3 children were born: Ella (deceased), Hezekiah, Jr. and Robert (deceased).

Hezekiah, Sr. was employed by Our Savior Lutheran Church for over 50 years and Texas A & M University for 27 years. After retiring, he continued to work faithfully in the church at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Clay, TX, where he served as a deacon for many years and enjoyed the calling on his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Hesekiah and Ruby (Williams) Carter; wife: Barbara; daughter: Ella; son: Robert; granddaughter: Yolanda; great grandson: Brandon; two brothers:

William Carter, Roosevelt Carter; two sisters: Lorenia Perry, Catherine Adams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Hezekiah, Jr. (Lisa) of Bryan, TX; 7 grandsons: Demarco Carter (Anika) of Clay, TX, Warren Williams, Eddie Blake, Jr. Patrick Blake, Christopher Neal, and Ryan Carter of Houston, TX, Hezekiah Carter III (Carrie) of Bryan, TX; 3 granddaughters: Andrea Sales of Bryan, TX, Brittney Edwards of Plantersville, TX, and Tanisha Neal of Houston, TX; 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
