Obituary
Charnell Orice Blaylock, Jr. was
born on May 29, 1950 in Midland,
Texas to Charnell Orice Blaylock,
Sr. and Olivia Bowers.
Charnell attended and graduated
from Midland School District in
Midland, Texas. Charnell moved to Bryan, Texas. He confessed his life for
Christ and joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church,
where he loved to sing with the Male and Mass Choirs. He was
a faithful member until his health failed and he couldn’t attend
church any longer.
Charnell, later in life met and married Paula Yvette Ray
Shields Blaylock on the 7th day of October, 2013. He stayed
faithful to Paula until her demise on September 10, 2021.
Charnell was an Artist, and he really enjoyed being an Artist.
He also had a green thumb, with all his plants and flowers. He
enjoyed taking care of all his ivies and other plants.
Charnell is preceded in death by his parents, Charnell Orice
Blaylock, Sr and Olivia Bowers Blaylock; his wife Paula
Blaylock; one son Jerrell Blaylock; one daughter Juanita
Johnson; and his paternal grandmother Willie Mae Blaylock.
Charnell is survived by one daughter Cassie Hair Dancer
(Otis); two sons Charnell Orice Blaylock, III and Charelle
Blaylock; a bonus son, Treaveon Shields; seven sisters; Bridget
Sanders, Janelle Blaylock, Tina Williams, Gloria Blaylock,
Gwen Blaylock, Gwyneth Blaylock and Kat Blaylock; six
brothers; Petey Burkins, Robbie Williams, Chardon Blaylock
(Sikizi), Brandon Nero (Kimberly), Melvin Blaylock and
Arthur Blaylock; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren;
a host of many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends;
special friends: “The Three Amigos” his Angels, who all were
his caretakers; Martha, Meschelle and Twitty.
