Celebration of Life Service for Ever Nell Gilbert
Obituary
Ever Nell Jackson Gilbert “affectionately known as Eva” was born on March 7th, 1948, in Brazos
County, Texas, the seventh child among eight born to Archie and Pauline Jackson.
She embraced her faith early in life, finding solace at Galilee Baptist Church and later becoming
a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church where she would answer her call to ministry
and remain a member for the remainder of her life.
A lifelong resident of Bryan-College Station, Eva was educated in Bryan Public Schools
graduating from E.A. Kemp High School in 1967. After high school she began a journey in the
healthcare field which led to a career spanning over two decades at Scott and White Clinic in
College Station until her retirement.
On June 9th, 1989, Eva married Terrylon Glenn Gilbert, welcoming his three sons, Anthony,
Sedrick, and Terrance, into her heart and home.
Eva was a multifaceted individual, finding joy in the company of family, friends, church
members, and colleagues. Even after the loss of her husband, she remained actively involved in
her stepsons’ lives, cherishing moments of travel, dining, games, and caring for the children of
the doctors she worked with, who regarded her as an extended family member.
On January 4, 2024, Eva passed away at Scott and White Medical Center in College Station,
TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers: Odie B., Elijah, Kernon,
Jimmy Dean, and Cledis; and one sister, Glenda Kay.

Jackson of Bryan, TX, stepsons Anthony Taylor of Houston, TX, Sedrick R. Gilbert of Bryan, TX,
