Raymond Thornton, Jr. was born February 09, 1961 to Raymond and Rose Mary Thornton in Bryan, Texas.

He attended Bryan Independent School District. He was a member of The Way The Truth And The Life Church in Bryan, Texas

He enjoyed building with his hands and playing the guitar.

Raymond departed this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan, Texas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Thornton, Sr. and Rose Mary Thornton; his first wife, Annie Mae Washington; 2 sisters, Nettie Fields and Mary Kersee; 2 brothers, Jimmy Lee Thornton and Christopher Michael Thornton; his maternal and paternal grandparents, Odis Charles and Elizaeth Thornton, and James and Jannie Thurmon. 

He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Kimberly Collins Thornton of Bryan, Texas; one daughter, Ramona Thornton Sims of Bryan, Texas; 2 sons, Richard Washington (Joslyn) of Pennsylvania, and Michael Sims; one brother, Odis Thornton; 5 sisters, Rev. JoeAnna Brooks, Sarah Thornton, Annie Green (Bishop Oritz Green), Dianne Gradington (Edward Gradington) all of Bryan, Texas, Naomi Neblett (James Neblett) of Manor, Texas; one sister-in-law, Alma Thornton of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 10, 2023 11:00A.M. Daniel & Son Funeral Home Chapel located at 401 W 18th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803

Visitation Services will be held on Friday June 09, 2023 11:00A.M. until 7:00P.M. at Daniel & Son Funeral Home located 401 W 18th Street, Bryan,Texas 77803
