Obituary
OSCAR SAM RHONE was born in Brazos County, Bryan, Texas on June 27, 1954 to Jesse and Estelle Rhone. He attended public and high school here in Bryan and graduated with honors in choir.He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served February 16, 1973 –May 2, 1975 as a Military Policeman and Detective. Mr. Rhone was a Professional Driver by trade for Brazos Transit System and was employed there until he relocated to Dallas. He joined New Chapel Baptist Church under the pastor age of Rev. S.E. Diggs and was a faithful member, working and active in most departments of the church along with his siblings. He later joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Morris Williams and now current Pastor. Rev. Dr. Freddie Foster, Sr., where he served faithfully. He loved singing praises to our God. He was a musician for Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church for 6 years,where Pastor Curtis Sanders is current pastor .Mr. Rhone was preceded in death by his mother, Estella Rhone, father, Jesse Rhone, 3 brothers, Jessie Rhone, Jr., Calvin Rhone, and David C. Rhone, children, Yolanda Rhone, Oscar Sam Rhone, Jr., and Wanda Sims. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Consuella Rhone of Bryan and Jessica Guyton of Giddings; one brother, David Earl Hunter of Bryan; 6 sisters, Dola R. (Kenneth) Seymore of Bryan, Christine Jones of Houston, Rose (James) Camper of Bryan, Paulette Ross of Houston, Patsy and Jessie Everline of Bryan; 6 nephews, Clayton (Sharon) Walton, Stanley Walton, Demond (Paula) Dickey, Sr.of Houston, Broderick Jones and Zachery Jones; 5 nieces, Regina Rhone and Georgia (Benford) Rhone of Dallas, Rochelle (Roderick) Campbell, Kimberly Seymore, and Kenya Seymore; and a host of relatives and friends.
